Security and device updates

Firewall security rules

For security reasons, we always recommend isolating Internet gateways in a unique subnet. To achieve this, we suggest the following steps :

1. Create a VLAN sub-interface on your router.
2. Assign a subnet to this interface.
3. Ensure that the router assigns addresses via DHCP.
4. Ensure that the port on your switch connected to your router is in "trunk" mode.
5. Assign the interface on which the device is connected to the switch to the same VLAN as the interface created in step 1.

Next, make a DHCP IP reservation for the MAC address of each gateway and allow the necessary outbound connections. The LAN MAC address can usually be found on the device or box's rear sticker, while the list of connections to allow will be provided  directly by our team.

Security Measures and Data Integrity

Some security measures in place include :

  • Our devices only use secure communication protocols.
  • Data is sent to our servers using secure and encrypted protocols.
  • Data is always stored encrypted in our databases.
  • Only specific individuals have access to the database, and their access is protected by multi-factor authentication.
  • We perform automated backup copies to ensure data recovery in case of major issue.
  • We have a 24/7 monitoring tool that observes the integrity of our data processing system and alerts us to any failures.

Device updates

Note that Internet gateways are continuously maintained by the Assek Technologies team through a remote maintenance tool, without any service interruptions. All these operations are carried out, monitored and validated by our team.
